County Wexford VEC provides a free and confidential service for adults

seeking to return to learning, build on their skills and develop further confidence.  

 

All of our programmes are delivered by highly skilled and sensitive tutors, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. 

 

General Learning: Provided for adults working on building their core skills (Reading, Writing, Grammar, Spelling, and Maths). May also include 10-week intensive programmes such as 'Spell Well' and 'Getting Grammar Right'.

One -to- One  Tuition: Provided for adults preferring to work with a tutor on a one-to-one basis.

ITABE (Intensive Tuition In Adult Basic Education): Providing 6 hours tuition per week for 14 weeks in a small group setting.

Adult Basic Education Programme: Programmes leading to FETAC Accreditation at level 1 - 3. Examples of past and current programmes include Horticulture, Personal Effectiveness, Drama, Personal and Interpersonal Skills, Communications, Computers, Interior Design and Maths.

Computer Literacy: 10-week computer course  specifically delivered for individuals who have never used a computer previously and who may also experience literacy difficulty.

Everyday English: An English Language Programme aimed at speakers of other languages with no or very low levels of English language skills.

Family Learning: Generally delivered for parents/guardians of children aged from 5 -12 years old. These are programmes that either support parents in understanding and supporting their children's learning or could involve parents learning alongside their children.

Essential Skills Programme: (Delivered in collaboration with local and national organisations) Small group tuition for individuals who may learn differently or have special educational needs. The programme aims to both build skills and promote social inclusion.

Workplace Learning: Programmes provided and delivered for employees of the County Wexford Local Authorities, Community Employment participants and employees of commercial business/industry.
