County Wexford VEC provides a broad range of educational services to the people of the county and indeed to people beyond our borders. From small beginnings with the Vocational Schools that offered a range of “technical” subjects the organisation has grown and developed and now provides education services at Junior Certificate, Leaving Certificate, Post Leaving Certificate and beyond.
However, despite having grown and diversified in the range of programmes that are provided we are proud that we remain “local providers” with Schools and Education Centres in the five main towns in the County and in addition three rural Centres in Adamstown, Bridgetown and Kilmuckridge. Apart from the Community School in Ramsgrange, County Wexford VEC is the only mainstream education provider operating in rural County Wexford.
We are endeavouring to achieve a service that meets the needs of students, parents, staff, and communities in County Wexford. A modern progressive education service is one that values diversity, is egalitarian in its approach and is quality driven. The service provided by County Wexford VEC recognises these qualities and actively strives to promote them in all aspects of the service.
Vocational education has never operated on the “one size fits all” principle. Our system is flexible and adaptable enough to meet the different needs of all students from communities in Wexford who choose to access the Vocational Education Service.
